As the title says, I got my TRV today extending my stay for an extra 2 months. However, I had to leave the country in December after I applied for the TRV and came back before a decision was made.

which one prevails? My new entry (so I get 6m because I didn’t had any stamps) or the TRV? Even though I left the country and came back.

any help anyone could give me, would be amazing. Can’t find anything online

You didn't get a TRV for a stay extension, you got a visitor record (or very rarely a TRP) - and while you may have the paper visitor record, it expired the moment you left Canada - even if it were still in application status and you hadn't received the paper visitor record.

Since you left and you re-entered, without stamps, the six month admission is what prevails.

But wouldn’t they check my entries before issuing a extension?
I’m only confused because I don’t want to be illegal in the country and I also have a return ticket to my country in May, and I don’t want this to affect any future border crossings.

What extension? You re-entered Canada and your 6 month time was reset.
