I am a female international student in Canada.

My husband applied for TRV PAPER APPLICATION from Abu Dhabi on 17 Dec 2014 and He almost BEGGED them to keep his passport as he do not need to travel anywhere while the application is being processed BUT They did not keep the passport with the application package.

Anyway He has received an email from CVO on 4th Jan 2015. which is as below:

Email says:

Dear Applicant/Cher(e) Client(e),

We would like to inform you that your correspondence has been dispatched from the Canada Visa Office, on 04 Jan 2015 to the Canada Visa Application Centre.
You can track the status of your application through our website mentioned below using your tracking number.

But on the Tracking page the status is also same as this email.

Q1: We tried to call VFS nobody picking up the phone, also tried to email them: ON ONE HAND THEY SENDS AN EMAIL

"Dear Applicant,

Thank you for writing to the Canada Visa Help Desk.

With reference to your query, we are pleased to inform you that your application with tracking number 2014xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is ready for collection at the Visa application Centre.

The Passport collection timings are from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm from Sunday – Thursday except public holidays.

Applicant may personally visit our Visa Application Center with the original receipt to collect their passport and if a representative may wish to collect the passport on behalf of the applicant then he/she will be required to furnish an authorization letter along with the original receipt and his/her identity copy at the collection counter."

AND ON OTHER HAND THEY SAYS:

"Please be informed that Canadian Embassy sends the passport/letter in a sealed envelope and we are not authorized to open the same.

The decision on your visa (Granted/ Rejected) can be only checked upon collection/delivery of the passport/letter to the applicant and not earlier."

Q2: The VFS CVAC website clearly says that if the application of TRV is approved then an applicant will receive an email requesting passport submission and if the application is refused the applicant will receive a letter stating the reasons of refusal, so does this mean that my husband's visa is refused?

Q3: If the meaning of correspondence is a "paper letter" then aren't we suppose to receive this letter through "Mail/courier" because we submitted paper application.

Q4: If the application is refused then why they are not telling us on email or on tracking page? why they want my husband to visit VAC office ? just to read the refusal letter? OR there is still possibility that in this letter there is a good news and they ask my husband's passport to submit ?

Q5: What DOES THIS TERM MEAN? "Application ready to collection"

Q6: If they do not know the decision in the letter then why they are telling us the passport collection timings ?

Q7: Passport collection from who ? FROM Client/Applicant ... OR ...... FROM VFS CVAC office (when after the process they returns the passport)?

Please suggest.

Lonely and depressed wife, Praying for her husband to join her in CANADA.

most of the emails you mentioned above are the fix templates they send almost to every one. while reading all your post, every time by the time i reach at the end i just get confused to know what exactly your main question is. what i understand is:-

1) your husband received an email from CVO on 4th Jan 2015:
In this email canada visa office informed your husband that they have send a correspondence to him which he should collect from the VAC where he submitted his application. (as the email was sent the same day the correspondence was dispatched so they also mentioned/advise to track the delivery of the package to avoid any inconvenience as obviously it wont reach the same day)
Now remember as canadian visa office is sending something to your husband, it can be any thing A letter of passport request, a letter stating they need additional information, any additional forms, a refusal letter, a medical examination request or any original documents you sent along ... so it can be anything. ( no one can know what is in the package except your husband as no one else is authorize to open the envelop).

2) your husband send an email to VAC:
In response you get a standard (standard email template)reply and they confirm that your husband package is received and available for pickup. So your husband course of action should be to visit the VAC and collect his package (it will be a sealed envelop as i mentioned above).

as mostly they send a general template(already designed email format) to applicants so the email also have the information of timings of their office to collect passports/letter etc and they have also mentioned that which ever correspondence or envelop they receive is sealed and they cannot open it to check what is inside by writing:-

"Please be informed that Canadian Embassy sends the passport/letter in a sealed envelope and we are not authorized to open the same."

as they do not know what is inside the package so they use a general template for every applicant/client thats why they wrote:-

"The decision on your visa (Granted/ Rejected) can be only checked upon collection/delivery of the passport/letter to the applicant and not earlier."

So its simple VAC asked your husband to collect his package/envelop and timings for collections are from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm from Sunday – Thursday except public holidays.

What DOES THIS TERM MEAN? "Application ready to collection":
VAC use the term Application for all the envelops they send and receive. As the envelop can contain anything related to your visa application e.g a passport, a letter etc. Generally the status terms used in VAC tracking system are like "Application received" , "Application ready for collection", "Application collected/delivered" etc. and the status in a VFS/VAC tracking system is only limited to receiving and sending application/envelop. it will never show "Visa approved or Visa rejected".
VAC is a private owned courier company who has a contractor with Canadian visa offices and their work is only to collect an application (package from the client) and send it to the Canada visa office. and if they receive any thing from the Canada visa office inform the client to collect it.

Conclusion:
As your application (package) is ready for collection ask your husband to visit the VAC and collect his package/envelop by showing his ID and VAC receipt. Open the envelop and see what is inside it.

If they require any other document your husband will be submitting the requested document to the same VAC ( visa application center) and the tracking system will again show "Application Received", "Application Send to High Commission/Visa office" and so on etc etc etc

Hope it helps and hope your husband will be joining you soon.

Thank you Dear for your brief reply !

So this means there is no need to be worry about anything.

In the envelope there may be a positive answer as well as request to submit any further supporting document or interview.

So we should keep our hopes high until we open the envelop.

My husband lives in Dubai and not in Abu Dhabi .. due to some important busy schedules he will only be able to reach Abu Dhabi on 12 January 2015. I will update you once he get the answer. I hope it is "Yes" (Application Approved). Till then please keep praying.

Thank you.
