Hi, how did you send your mom's passport (and will you be picking it up when available or scheduled for delivery)? Did you opt for courier service from VFS?

Hi! She went to VFS office ni Manila, paid the fees and opted for delivery thru courier service. I'm not sure how much she paid. It's been a week now and the last update she got is that her passport has been couriered already. Hopefully, she will receive it today

Great! We were thinking of picking it up from VFS too, when it's available. Would you mind sharing, in case your mom got her passport back today, the date when she went to submit her passport and the date the visa was issued (should be stamped in the visa itself)?

We're curious as we need to book tickets right away in time for the incoming long weekend, hehe.

Hi, I want to share my mom’s application.

May 24, 2019-applied online; submission confirmation
May 25-biometrics request
May 30-biometrics completed; details shown right away on the top right page of her gckey account
*eligibility and background check started sometime in between these dates*
June 4-medical request
June 6-medical exam
June 17-medical results submitted (after a number of follow ups )
June 20- medical results shown on gckey account. “You passed the medical exam”

Now still waiting and waiting and waiting..
I connected with IRCC through our local MP. At first they said that they were only waiting for the medical results and we can expect approval after that. Now that they have the results, I don’t know what is taking them so long.. I feel very frustrated because my mom is taking my son back to Canada as he will start his daycare on July 2nd. Now I don’t think he can make it on time. What’s worst is that we have to pay 75 bucks a day for the day care space even if he’s not there This is really so frustrating

Update on my in-laws TRV application

After seeking help from our MP, the application got processed immediately.

July 4 - Went to MP office in Winnipeg before close
July 5 - MP office called IRCC regarding my in-laws application, IRCC emailed Manila office Friday morning (night in Manila so no response)
July 8 - Status changed to in progress
July 9 - Passport request
July 11 - Passport dropped off in person in VAC Makati
July 12 - Visa Issued - 9 year validity (online update)

they are just waiting for the delivery next week and we will be looking for tickets this weekend.

moral of the story, if your application is taking longer than the normal processing time, try to reach out to your MP. ^_^

Hello, I would just like to ask if your dad is still active in service? My dad was requested that form as well and it’s been 2 weeks since we submitted and still no update from them. I’m kinda worried that maybe it takes too long for them to process since he’s still active in service? Thank you sooo much!

Wala naman silang mga additional requests. Dec 6 na yung flight ko papuntang US. Sa US kasi ako manggagaling papuntang Canada.

I know. But the thing is - kailangan ko pa magpunta sa LA or NY para dun. And will take more than a week. Hassle.
