Trouble with e-medicals.. please suggest

Guys I am in trouble...

I got my medical request on 10th Oct. We did our medicals (My husband and I) on 15th Oct in USA and the clinic said that its e-medicals. After that I waited to hear anything from clinic, but didn't. So I called on 25th Oct (10days after medicals done) and the nurse told that there was some glitch in e-medical process and she needs CIC to resolve the issue.

Ok so I waited some more and today I called again... the nurse repeated herself and said that unless CIC resolves the issue, she can't do anything. So basically my medical report is just sitting here...

My question is "If e-medical thing doesn't get resolved and she sends paper medical report, will CIC accept it ?? Since the clinic is e-medical enables, can it still send the report in paper format. Also is there anything that I can do regarding this situation to help my medicals reach CIC asap.
Please suggest and if some had been in similar situation, kindly share the experience.

I think the forms are slightly different between eMedicals and paper one (emedicals use the barcode forms). Also, you would require photos for the paper submission so I am not sure if that will be possible. Maybve others who did paper submissions can advise.

hi pmpm,

its possible to do paper based medical because doctors usually have the forms at least they used to a while ago and you would need pictures for that.
but i would wait bit in case they solve their glitch then e-medical will be more convenient and faster.

First -> Inform CIC about this delay, give complete details of the panel physician, date of test etc.

Regarding sending results through regular mail - only panel physician will be aware of such alternatives if emedical is not working. Did the nurse say that issue is with all cases / specific to your case?

Also, read OP 15 www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op15-eng.pdf for a complete set of rules regarding medical procedures - you may be able to find an answer here.

The nurse said that this is clinic's first time doing e-medicals and she herself admitted that she is not that comfortable with computer and technology. She did not explain what's the trouble, even after we asked couple of times. Seems like she is just not well informed or trained about the procedure. We are in Tennessee and not many people get their medicals done for Canada immigration purpose here...

Yeah I have doubts regarding paper format but I would like to try if there could be anything done to resolve the issue.

PMPM.... if you are having troubles with this clinic, why dont you look out for another clinic that is well versed with this process.

Personally, I would be willing to spend that extra money to get my PR through.....

I would be wiling to do another medicals if required. The problem is that this is the only clinic in TN, and we will have to travel to another city and we are 2 so twice the cost. ???

If I understood the nurse correct, its all about getting the information uploaded in CIC system. Since she is not educated in this process. All our medicals report are with her and I pray that we hear something positive soon.

I think results can be uploaded only once using barcode in the imm1017 form. A second doctor may not be able to use the same form to upload results.

I wrote to CIC about it today. I am also going to call the clinic tomorrow and see if any progress is done. Last time the nurse said she will have some answers on Wednesday.
