It would definitely work. It's very easy to re-enter Canada through the US / Canada land border using your COPR (or an expired PR card). Tons of people here have done that. Just make sure you are using a private vehicle. You also obviously need to be authorized to enter the US either by having the right visa or being a US citizen / green card holder.yes changed plans - but I asking did it work
As I said in my post just now, we offered a visa the customs guy at LAX laughed at us. The airport was way more concerned about contraband it seemed. It would definitely work. Yes, but you need the visa to board the plane and fly to the US. Without a US visa, you can't get on the airplane. As I said in my post just now, we offered a visa the customs guy at LAX laughed at us. The airport was way more concerned about contraband it seemed.
They would have swiped her passport to make sure she had a valid ESTA to enter the US.Well, from Cancun to LAX. my wife showed her UK passport. Thats it.
Perhaps. They would have swiped her passport to make sure she had a valid ESTA to enter the US.
Not perhaps - definitely. Either then or this was captured when you checked in before the flight. Airlines are obligated to make sure individuals flying have the required visas to enter a country and face high fines if they allow people to fly who don't. It's built into their computer systems and is all automated. They link to the ESTA database and do the check automatically based on the passport #. That's why the immigration officer in the US didn't need to see her visa. He knew that check had already been automatically performed by the airline as a condition of boarding. Without a valid ESTA, she would have been denied boarding in Mexico.Perhaps.
