Hi,

I am Living in Alberta and working as a Journeyman Scaffolder for the past three years.
I have received an LMIA stating that I am a Journeyman Scaffolder NOC code 7271(CARPENTERS) (B-Level)
The Alberta Govenment website lists scaffold erector as NOC 7271.
The CIC website lists scaffold Erector as either 7445 or 7611(C-Level)

Going by my LMIA and by the Alberta Gov website this will allow me to apply for PR through CEC,
However going by the CIC website I do not qualify as scaffold erector is a C-Level unskilled trade.

Would I be lying if I put 7271 down on my application?

You must compare the duties, not the title alone.

Also, if you apply under any federal program and not provincial, simply look at the NOC2011 catalogue for reference. These are the NOCs to look for.

If your LMIA / work permit lists NOC 7271, you apply for NOC 7271... otherwise, you create an inconsistency and will be rejected due to unauthorized work. Unless, you can prove that the wrong NOC was applied by mistake by immigration. Your employer needs to write you a letter of employment that points out your duties relating to NOC 7271, if this is the work you performed.
