travelling World on Canadian PR card

Hi all,

Can anyone please tell me the list of countries that does not need travel visa if one holds a Canadian PR. I also hold an Indian passport.

A Canadian PR Card holder, in general may travel visa-free to the following countries: Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Costa Rica,the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, South Korea and the Turks & Caicos Islands.

I think as an Indian passport holder and a Canadian PR, you can also enter Taiwan and Singapore without visa.

You can start by checking the Wikipedia article about visa requirements for Indian passport holders (don't just rely on what's written there, also check the references therein)

According to the link, as an Indian national AND a Canadian PR, you can visit the following countries that you would otherwise require visa for:

Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Malaysia, and the Philippines

A fair amount of EU countries need ESTA approval to visit the US. Do we still need that after becoming PR?

I don't think having a Canadian PR would change anything regarding requirements for pre-approval of ESTA. I could be wrong though.

I just wish that Canadian PRs can just visit the US without visa, the same way that US PR (GC holders) can visit Canada visa-free

I'm sure the US can visit Canada USA free? I can travel to Canada without applying for a TRV or anything like that. But in the USA I have to apply for an ESTA prior to.. Which costs money as well

Ya, US citizens and permanent residents can visit Canada visa-free. Canadian citizens can visit the States visa-free as well (they don't require ESTA as well if I'm not mistaken), but being a Canadian PR does not automatically give you visa-free access to the United States. Obviously if you are a Danish citizen, you can visit the US without visa, whether or not you're a Canadian PR

Can I ask about the NEXUS card?

It says that: To be eligible for the NEXUS, you must be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or the United States.

Does that mean with a PR, one can get a NEXUS card, right? This is only for road travelers but it can still be quite handy for some PR holders wanting to drive down south.

You will need ESTA if you are from a visa-waiver country such as Australia, Japan, UK and EU countries to enter US by air even if you are a permanent resident of Canada. If you are from a country that needs a visa to enter US then you don't need ESTA but just a valid visa to enter US.
I saw a woman at Pearson Airport denied entry to US because she didn't apply for ESTA and she was from UK.

But both websites only state citizen or permanent resident of Canada, regarding eligibility. How much minimum years are required to be PR wasn't stated nor which countries are waived.

Hi All,

My spouse and I have a family emergency that we have to attend in Slovenia. Our plane leaves tonight at 8pm and has layover in Istanbul (Turkey). We are both Permanent resident card holders and as well have Bosnian Passport .

Does any of you know if we need Transport visa for Turkey and short term stay (up to 15 days) visa for Slovenia if we travel with combination PR Card & Passport?
