Travelling with Canadian passport

Hi. I wasn’t too sure where to post this question. I am a Brit but I have PR here in Canada and I am eligible to apply for my citizenship early next year. When I was younger I travelled to the States on the wrong visa and was sent back with a slap on the wrists. Unfortunately that means I cannot enter the USA on an esta. I have a B2 visa which is attached to my UK passport. I was wondering when I get my Canadian citizenship, would I be able to travel with that passport and my old issue would go undetected or are they linked some how? Obviously I can just travel with my UK passport with the visa but was curious.

As above something for US to answer but I would suspect that US CBP will have your name , date of birth and possibly place of birth in the system. So just your name/DOB / place of birth maybe unique enough to id you even with a Canadian passport. However the fact you have since been issued a B2 visa cannot personally see what the issue would be now else they would not have issued a B2 so using a Canadian passport or UK for me anyway should not be an issue.

thank you for the response. Yes I have been into the states numerous times recently but I am sent into a waiting room while they go over my details and interrogate me a little. This isn’t a problem but obviously it would be nice not to do. I did think that maybe just my name would be enough for them to flag, so wouldn’t want to risk not going without my proper visa anyway.
