I am an International student with study permit.

I am an Indian citizen travel going to India with 3 hr transit in USA between connecting flight?

Do I need a transit visa? It costs $160 which is alot for a transit visa. Is it correct?

if ur going though US yes u need a transit visa

Yes or you can try your luck with a tourist visa,

I suggest to change your duration and find a flight without stop over in the US, believe me its pain in the rear

I am currently on work permit of Canada and planning to visit to my home country India from JFK around sept and returning back on november and I also have a B1/B2 visa as well so can I do that while travelling from amtrak trains from Torontop union station to new York City with a 2x23 kg and 1 7kg checked-in bag and 1 handbag is it fine or should I change my plans?
