Hello, I'm trying to verify something I read.
If I live in Canada as a PR and travel abroad with my partner (sponsor) and accompany him, is it true that this counts towards the domestic PR obligation?

It may or it may not. I assume your sponsor is a Canadian citizen. IRCC will sometimes apply the who followed whom rule. So let's say you are outside of Canada because of your spouse's job. That would count. But if you are outside of Canada primarily due to your job or other obligations, it might not.

Thank you scylla, yes my partner is Canadian. He travels a lot like for conferences. Not that i have a lot of time to kill but we liked doing that together in the past.
But if it violates my PR obligations, then I'd better not do it.

You can spend up to 3 years in any 5 year window out of Canada without violating the RO. It looks like you are just getting your PR, so you would be completely fine with occasional travel. The rule you quoted above only becomes relevant if you need to rely on it because you will be out of the country for 3 years or more.
