Guys i applied for CEC on sep 8, still waiting for AOR, POWP expires on nov 30th, my AOR is expected to come by Dec 7th. can i travel outside canada while my application is in process for CEC? I will apply for BOWP without AOR by nov 27th, but im thinking jst in case if my BOWP doesnt get approved, i dont want to stay on visitor visa here for 12 months :s so i rather go back and wait there. if my bowp gets approved i will take visa on it n jst go for a month only when i can take vacation from work. what do u guys recommend?

To clarify, you are talking about taking a vacation when you have the BOWP?

With the BOWP, you can take holidays outside of Canada no problem.

If you don't get the BOWP, you can leave Canada and it won't affect your CEC application. You'd just need to let CIC know your new address and possibly request a change of visa office.

I would highly suggest you apply for BOWP using paper based application, send along an explanation letter saying your PR application is under process. I am sure given the time delays for paper based BOWP applications, you should have your AOR email when your BOWP app is being processed. As long as they see AOR in your file they should issue you a BOWP hopefully.

I applied for my PR on 23rd July-14 and got AOR on 1st Oct-14. Given the timelines, you should be able to get the BOWP if all applications are processed properly. So you should be getting your AOR in the next 2 weeks hopefully considering the current timelines.

Yes, I am thinking of doing that but i i will apply online without AOR with an explanation letter since my AOR is expected to be by approved dec 7 it will be exact 3 months by then, n i will apply online for BOWP by nov 27th so hoepfully when CIC get to work on ma BOWP the AOR will be approved by then and they can see that in the system. since it takes 19 days for online with BOWP.

If you wish then you can apply online which would be processed quicker, but then there are many different elements.

For instance, if you apply paper based BOWP, it would take approx 2 additional months to process as compared to online application. Which also translates into having a BOWP for two additional months. In my case for instance, i applied for BOWP on 19th Aug and it was approved on 27th October. Now my BOWP is valid till Oct 27th 2015. Had i applied online, it might have been approved by say 10-15th Sep and then my BOWP would have been valid till 10-15th Sep 2015. Thus, applying for paper based basically gave me an additional 6-7 weeks of BOWP as compared to an online application.

If your AOR gets delayed by a few days and your BOWP application is processed a few days early, and they dont see an AOR in your file, it could be a problem. So i personally believe to not have such congested timelines.

At the end of the day, follow what you are comfortable with. :)
