Hello, We have planned our India vacation long back and it will be right after the test. What is the process to inform about this as am sure that will impact our oath time lines. Please let us know whom and when should we inform about this plan, our test is scheduled Oct 10th.

Please let me know.

The officer at the interview actually asked me about any upcoming travel plans. I would imagine this will happen for you too, and if it doesn't you can let the officer know then. They'll make a note of it on your file and I presume they will factor that in when they're scheduling oaths.

It may not impact you at all though - it looks like it's taking longer than 2 months for the oath these days.

I had informed through web form 4-5 months back. I also informed during interview and officer took note. Still I was sent oath invite when my wife is already in India and I am about to leave.
During interview they mentione it takes 4 months for oath, but they sent oath next month for 2 months from interview. I think IRCC is a case of left hand not talking to right hand.

Thanks, added to this my PR card expires Jan 20th. I need some one to clarify my options.

1. Can I mention the officer during the test that I am travelling and cannot take Oat before Jan 10th?
2. Can I come back to Canada with 10 days remaining on my PR Card to expire? Will that be an issue at the airport?
3. Is that ok if I do not apply for my PR card extension and wait for my Oath and can I stay in country with an expired PR card?

Please let me know.

1. yes, you should.
2. Yes, should not be an issue.
3. I would avoid that, you have enough time right now, just get it renewed and have some peace ( you will have flexibility of change in travel time & oath etc.)
