Hi,

If I have bridge open work permit, can I travel outside Canada for vacation (India) and come back. I know to re enter Canada I need to have Visa.
So it possible to go on vacation and get visa based on BOWP and come back
Thanks

Well you can, be sure to confirm if you need a valid visa to travel to certain (transit) countries like UK, Europe or elsewhere, my friends had difficulty in travelling out of canada with a valid work permit but with out a valid visa.

You can obtain a TRV based on your BOWP. Its just another work permit which authorizes you to work and live in Canada.

I don't think you can get a visa based on your bowp. But I might be wrong here.

If he has a job, I think there should be no problem. Might be more complicated if he is not working at the moment.

Also, to be on the safe side, apply for visa in Canada first before travel.

I think Canadian visa is needed to transit through UK (LHR). Work permit is not enough for transit.

you can travel to India if you have multiple entry visa stamp in your passport.

what if someone has BOWP and valid TRV but no job? Can he be denied to enter in Canada?

No for enter Canada need only stamp visa in passport job not requires as bwp is not depend on job.

My guess is yes::: immigration wouldn't check if you're actually earning. For all they know, you could have taken a break before leaving one job and starting another.
Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

No, what if you're between jobs? They won't check that, and probably won't deny you entrance.
Based on what reason would they? Just because you're not working?
No! I re-entered Canada multiple times on my IEC open work permit and NEVER had issues.

I consider to apply for my BOWP in February and then quit working for my current employer. I would like to take some courses from university after that, which might mean I will be not working for some time. In April, I have a trip outside of Canada planned. My question is: when returning to Canada, they usually ask what you are doing in Canada. If I say I am studying or preparing to study in Canada, and not working while on OWP, could it pose any problems?
PS. When I say studying I mean short-term courses that do not require study permit.
