Hi guys,

Just wanted to ask what your thoughts are on my situation:

I just got my PGWP (open work permit) approved on Oct 22 and now I'm just waiting for my TRV.
I am currently unemployed, but I do have good chances on landing this job that is set to start early 2016.
(I pushed back looking for a field-related job until I received my PGWP to increase my chances of getting an offer)
So I was planning on spending my holidays back in my home country and fly back for New Year's, since I am unemployed and I don't have to take a leave to travel.

Given that I have a PGWP and a TRV, will there be an issue if I re-enter Canada unemployed?
What questions do you think I'll be asked at the Point of Entry?

Thanks!

1. You shouldn't haven't problems re-entering with a valid TRV and work permit, the fact that you are not working has no bearing on the entry.
2. Probably the officer will check the validity of the TRV and work permit and then send you on your way.

Thanks for the input PMM!

I stumbled upon this when I was going through UBC's guide for PGWP appplication:

Be prepared to prove at the border every time you enter Canada that you can support yourself financially. If you don’t have a job, bring proof that you are actively looking for work (your resume, list of jobs you apply for, etc.)

Might do that as well just in case.
