Travelling closer to oath ceremony

Hi guys, hope you are all doing OK.

I checked my tracker and I saw that my oath ceremony was scheduled for Dec 02. I will be travelling outside Canada (to Chile) for the holidays on Dec 18 until Jan 22. I am in Calgary, AB

Anyone with a similar experience in the past?

Do you think I will get the certificate on time? Can I ask for urgent processing if I show the flight tickets?

Can I apply for the passport at the Canadian embassy in Chile?

If not, can I ask for a travel document to comeback to Canada?

You can apply for the passport from outside if you have the certificate, but it takes much longer to issue, since all passports are issued in Canada. I am not even sure you will get the certificate on time, let alone the passport in Canada (or outside Canada if you are staying only for less than one month). Some people wait for 5 weeks to receive the certificate, others 4 days. Your safest option is postpone your travels, or have refundable tickets if you want to gamble and see if you get your passport before you leave.

Thanks for the response. To play safe I might as well call them and delay the ceremony. I hope they don't delay it for another 6 months
