Hi everyone.
I was working remotely for a Canadian company in Saskatoon and the invited me to come to Canada under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), in 2019 January I traveled to Canada and got my PR card in April 2019. However I was trying to get the PR approval since 2017, thanks multiple rejections, and by the time I actually got the approval some of my goals had changed and I had started a company in a different country (Indonesia).
I briefly traveled back to Canada in 2019 August (for a month) and back to Indonesia.
So I briefly worked for my employer in 2019 for 4 months and after I received my PR card I traveled back to Indonesia and worked remotely for them, while managing my own company in Indonesia. I was planning to handover my work to someone I trained under me and then move back to Canada by 2020, and unfortunately just like for everyone of us Covid came along and threw a wrench at my plans. So I basically got stuck in Indonesia for the last 2 years, I didn't want to travel because I didn't want to both take the risk or catching the virus and due to lock-downs everywhere.
During the last two years I managed to train multiple people who can take over most of my work and I now only have to help my team which I can do remotely.
My PR card is experiencing on the 22nd of Feb 2024 and I was wondering if there's anything I have to do before I travel back to Canada?
---------------------------------
TLDR;
*Got PR in Jan 2019
*Stayed in Canada in Saskatoon for 4 months.
*Traveled to Indonesia to run my company.
*Got stuck in Indonesia for 2 years coz of Covid.
*PR Expiring in 2024 Feb
*Now trying to go back to Canada, Toronto.
---------------------------------
Do I need to go back to Saskatoon? Or can I be in Torronto?
Do I need to inform immigration of my arrival since I have been away for almost 2 years?
Since I have been in Canada for only 4 years so far, will I be able to ask for an extension for my PR because of the Covid situation in the past two years?
Thank you so much for your time, thank you for reading my long post.
