Traveling to Toronto

Hi All,
Has anyone recently travelled to toronto with a PR. ? I understand there is a quarantine rule for 14 days, and i understand that we shouldn't take public transport to the destination address from the airport. If that is the case, how does one get to the destination from the airport ? Any suggestions or options available?

A taxi, limousine, or someone picks you up.

Thanks for your reply. If someone picks you up, would they have to quarantine as well ? Also as part of the quarantine, would the officials check up to make sure of symptoms or our whereabouts?

Not unless you're staying with them. Yes.

Uber as well. Many of the taxis/airport limos and even some ubers have created a partition, you are both required to wear masks, you must sit in the back on the opposite side of the driver and the keep the windows open while driving for airflow. If your friend picks up he/she should take similar precautions.

You may need to take a second car. Not sure how drivers are protecting their own safety but they may be limiting the number of passengers.

I was able to take an Uber and when you request a ride you have to agree to the condition or the driver won’t take you. I didn’t go from the airport. Assume that people are still picking people up from the airport. I haven’t seen anything on the news about an issue. Unfortunately many taxis/Uber drivers contracted covid at the beginning of the covid outbreak in Canada and some even died so of course the workers want to make sure to protects themselves.
