Traveling out of Canada without PR card

Hi guys,

I am waiting for pr card and I am sure that I wont be able to receive it before I need to travel out of Canada. There is only one option left for me now, that on my way back I can come to the US and then cross the border on a personal vehicle to enter Canada.

1)Can somebody please guide if this option is legal?
2) Also, what is considered a personal vehicle? Can I take a taxi from Buffalo, NY to Toronto?
3) Is taxi or rental car considered a personal vehicle?
4) Can the US authorities (for ex. at New York airport) give me a difficult time because the only proof that I am a PR of Canada would be the COPR document on which it says that it is not valid for travel? Would they let me in into the US, because I heard they can be very investigative at times.

3) Is taxi or rental car considered a personal vehicle? - Rental car for sure yes. Why would you want to take a taxi when you can drive?

Would they let me in into the US, because I heard they can be very investigative at times. - They can ask million questions, dont worry about that, just state your reason for entry into US loud and clear. By the way do you hold a B1 visa to US?

1) It will be legal if you have a US visa. ( I consider you that you are not from visa exempt country).
2) I don't know how taxi would work but you can take bus.
3) Crossing border by bus would not ask you to have a PR Card.
4) As i Mention if you have US Visa you are good to Go. Don't worry about anything.

Its taking too long man. The processing time is 83 days these days after the landing.

You sure about this?? rental car is as low as $50 one way. I dont think a taxi can drive you from Buffalo to Toronto for that charge.

Did someone say you can come on a bus, thats considered as a commercial carrier as well. First time bus is OK but not the second time unless you are from visa exempt country or have a PRTD.

I just confirmed it by calling cic, they said taxi is not allowed because it is also a commercial carrier. So the only option is rental car i guess, which I investigated would cost me around 200$ one way from buffalo to toronto.

Thanks for all ur responses. I was just a little concerned that when I tell the US officers that I am coming to US because the only option for me to enter Canada was by land which is why I came to US, it might raise a red flag and they might ask me for the proof if I have a valid canadian status. The only document I would be able to show them would be the COPR document on which it says clearly "Not valid for travel".

Urgent processing of PR card doesn't apply to people who are getting for first time.
