Hi seniors and EE experts,

I'm CEC inland and received my AOR Jan 17th. Currently in Canada with visitor visa but expecting my WP any day soon.
I need to travel back to Europe in June and am afraid that PR isn't finalized by then.

Do you have have any information if it's okay/allowed/ not recommended etc about leaving Canada while application is in process?

When I called CIC to find out I was told that's up to the agent on the border if she/he let's me back in. I'm confused by that information...

Thanks for your help!

Stay positive,
Kim

To be honest it really is upto the Officer at border . you have to have a valid reason/Travel Document with you to come back to canada. :-X

Thanks for your input. I'll evaluate the risks if or if not worth leaving Canada while PR is still in process.

If you have your work permit by then, it won't be a problem at all. Germany is visa exempt, so getting into the country won't be a problem and won't effect your PR application.

If luck is on your side, you might be able to activate your PR on the return trip.

Travel can be tricky if you have landed with your PR but don't yet have your card - you need additional documents etc. Something to keep in mind.

Great point. Thank you!
Do you know which additional documents would be needed?

Here is the link:

It's not so much the documents but you need to send your passport off etc which may not suit your travel plans.
