What is the first government issued Identification a newly arrived refugee can get when they get to Canada other than their PR that would allow them to travel within Canada? From Vanc to Montreal. Any help would be appreciated.
Can you please explain further more? What is the Provincial Photo ID? Does it have the information about the person? and how fast can it be issued?
And is an International Driving License a valid ID to travel? and can I get a drivers license without a PR card?
Have you googled? Lots of information available. You don’t qualify for MSP so you probably don’t have an MSP. Depending on your license you may be able to transfer that to a B.C. license.
Another question if I may, can I apply for PRTD before getting my PR card? I am a PR with a COPR. Can I apply for a refugee travel document and use it to travel within Canada?
If so, how long is the procedure? Thanks

PRTD is only available and necessary you travel outside Canada. RTD is also used for travel outside Canada but sure you can apply for one. Given your short time in Canada you likely don’t have any guarantors and it takes at least 21 days and you have to send the application to Hull, Quebec so extra day for postage.
