TRAVEL UPDATE: TRV immidiate family allowed to travel to Canada

According to today, June 12 update , immidiate family members of temporary residents are allowed to canada.

This mean we can apply trv online for immidiate family ?

Does it not still say though for an immediate family member of a temp resident that still need specific approval to show that it is essential travel ?

Yes but they defines essential as * living with family* so ideally 100% of immediate family should be issued with authorization letter within 48 hour of sending email because everyone will be going to stay with their temporary resident subject. And on top of that your temporary resident does not have to be in Canada at the time of family travel..

How do we get the letter? I mean will ircc provide letter when we apply for TRV?

Email IRCC at IRCC.COVID-TravelExemptions-Exemptionsdevoyage-COVID.IRCC@cic.gc.ca. We’ll contact you within 48 hours of getting your email and tell you what to do next.

When you contact us, you must provide your

• full name
• date of birth
• unique client identifier (UCI)
• passport number
• detailed reason for travel
• proof of relationship with an immediate family member in Canada
• proof of immigration status of your immediate family member in Canada (copy of their study permit or work permit)
• proof of temporary resident visa or eTA
