Travel to Canada with valid business visa on old/expired passport

Can I travel to Canada with valid business visa on old/expired passport? I have renewed the passport, and my tentative travel date to is from 28 July 2018 to 28 August 2018.

Visa validity(dd/MM/yyyy) : From 06/10/2016 To 01/03/2019

I got to know from some of the Agents here in India that it is required to take a permission from Canada High commission to avoid any problems at immigration. Do we need get any email in written while traveling?

No, you don't need any permission to travel with both passports.

Visa officers will not put a visa in an expired document and will not issue a visa for a period surpassing the expiry date of the passport or travel document. Occasionally, documents containing valid visas are cancelled or replaced. If a valid visa inside an expired document is presented at the POE along with a valid passport or travel document, the visa is considered valid

hi, I am in a similar situation. I am in Canada on a closed work permit and my husband is in India. He had a valid visa till 2024 but got his passport reissued due to a minor error in the spelling of his name. can he travel to Canada now with both the passports as the new passport bears the number of the old passport proving him to be the same person? please help .. thanks
