Hi , Thanks for the response. I already have a TRV. I had applied for it before we got married :)
Hi rs3710,

From your first quote it is clear, that you might have got married somewhere before Aug 2014(which is when you applied for spousal sponsorship) and you are planning to visit your husband in Feb 2015. I want to whether, once you have been granted a TRV isn't there a specific time( 6 months) for which the Visa is valid? I mean, did you applied for TRV before Aug 2014 and planned to to use it after an year?

My husband applied for a TRV for a 2 week visit in Canada with defined timelines (because my return ticket was already booked) and we received his rejection letter today. We had provided letters of employment, salary, invite letter explaining that we were aware of dual intent but our plans were to both return to the UAE after the visit (I've been staying with him here while the PRV is being processed). Of course, he's from Syria....and anyone from these countries seems to have a black plague. They said because of "his strong family ties" (marriage to me...a Canadian citizen), and the fact that there is no way for him to be able to obtain permanent residency / citizenship in the UAE and because of the war in Syria,....that they felt he would not leave Canada. I had also included our AOR letter for our PRV application (although I don't yet have SA)

I was so disappointed. Honestly, perhaps a few things could make a difference - long term rental agreement for him in Dubai, return airfare (we can't afford to buy fully refundable tickets in case he gets rejected) and perhaps if I had a residence visa for the UAE as well and full time work (just starting to look for work now)....but then the last condition potentially hurts our PRV application as they would wonder if we intend to return to Canada.

So....yeah....disappointing to say the least...would have been nice for them to at least give us a chance....my dad's health is not good and I was hoping he'd be able to see him in person as well as my family who couldn't afford a holiday in Dubai for our wedding...

But....at least I'm with him here....and there are far worse off people in this world I guess....
