Hi all,

wondering if anybody is the past year during covid border restrictions have travelled from US to Canada for the citizenship test. Did you quarantine for 14 days? Or can come back after arrival test results?
Thanks!

if you drive, you can go back before 14 days are over but if you are flying, you can't fly back until your quarantine in over

Hi sr5095, could you elaborate on the part that it is okay to go back before 14 days if driving? Is there some guidance somewhere? Can we go back in 3 days if the arrival test is negative?

Leaving Canada during your quarantine period
You may choose to leave Canada before the end of the 14-day quarantine period. However, you must:

  • continue to quarantine yourself until your departure date
  • wear a mask when you depart Canada
  • comply with all regulations for the country of destination
You must use a private vehicle to depart Canada. You will not be allowed to board a flight if you are currently under a quarantine order.

If you are in a federal designated quarantine facility, you must get authorization from a quarantine officer to leave.
