Hello, we are a married couple. I'm holding a Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). My wife is currently working outside of Canada while I am working inside.
We are applying for her Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) based on my PGWP.
My wife also has a tourist visa (TRV). We plan for her to travel to Canada as a tourist and live with me for 6 months (the allowed maximum stay for tourists).
I have a few questions:
Thanks in advance
We are applying for her Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) based on my PGWP.
My wife also has a tourist visa (TRV). We plan for her to travel to Canada as a tourist and live with me for 6 months (the allowed maximum stay for tourists).
I have a few questions:
- - Should we change her country of residence to Canada?
- - What if we receive approval for her SOWP while she's inside Canada?
- Should we inform IRCC that so that they will send the SOWP to our Canada address?
- Or should she do flag pole to get it?
- - Her visitor visa is valid until 2027. My PGWP is valid until end 2023 only, so if she gets SOWP, and IRCC will issue her another counterfoil matching my PGWP validity -> will this affect her visitor visa?
- - Lastly, can she have her counterfoil issued inside Canada?
Thanks in advance
