Hello guys! Did anyone recently travel to Canada via Air India? I guess there is only one Air India flight operating from New Delhi to Toronto (3:30am one). Was covid test report required to board the flight?

I am getting conflicting answers from Air India customer care. Sometimes they say yes, sometimes they say no. But I can't find anywhere on their website that covid test report is a requirement.

Yes but sometimes you get false positives too. And I don’t be in that position. So, I just wanna minimize the risk.
RT PCR tests rarely have false positives. Their accuracy is more than 95%. Dont go for Antigen tests. Chances of false negatives in fact are even more there. Which is dangerous.

Also how about the fact that if you are infact positive, you will be endangering a lot of lives on the flight and then the airport So yes. Please get it done.

Appreciate your reply! A few questions:-
1) Did the airline officer ask him for a Covid test report?
2) Did he face any problems/ issues?
3) Is there anything specific (in addition to the general travel info) I should keep in mind?
4) What reason did he give to the immigration officers for travelling to Canada?

answers to your ques:
1. No one asked him for Covid Test.. Not even Air India or Delhi Airport staff
2. Nothing specific but ensure in ArriveCan app you fill everything and do not choose that you are exempted. He maid mistake and selected that he was exempted, so he had to fill one manual form again. That’s it, nothing much.
3. Be confident at the immigration
4. Reason was to start his classes. All universities with DLI Readiness plan are calling students to Campuses
