Hello,

I am wondering if Citizenship & Immigration Department can check my travel records on their system while processing Citizenship?

Would they be able to see when I went out and came back to Canada?

Thank you,

Thank you,
Yes, they can check. So you should be very trueful when you put down your travel history when you submit the application.

Thank you,
Yes, they will check with CBSA. Also, they may request your passport(s) to see where you have been and when

They don't care about your travels after you submitted your application, but if they asked for passport copies, then they may know if you traveled after, but again it shouldn't affect your application

They usually check just the travel of the submitted period. BUT they could also pull and check your updated travel as well.

Thank you,

Not sure what exactly you're hinting at, but as others have said as long as you were truthful about your travel dates in your citizenship application at the time of submission, you don't have to worry about anything else.

You're free to live and work in any country you want after sending in the application. (It used to be a problem before Justin Trudeau became PM but all that old regime is gone.)
You just need to make sure you remain a PR until your citizenship is approved (2 yr residency in Canada out of every rolling 5 year period), that's all.

AFAIK, your physical address mentioned in the application might not see any action until very late in the application process.

You will be requested copies of all your passport pages if you didn't already submit it with your application. In that case, they can see your travels after you applied as well.

However, as long as you never lied about your trips before you applied AND you continue to maintain your Permanent Resident obligations (2/5 years presence in Canada), you should be good. You shouldn't have any issues.
