Hi , My common law partner travelled for a year every Thursday to the US for school - how do I mention this in his travel information? 4 times 1 day travel?

I would write an explanation letter. Mention like a few days in the forms and
explain the trips in a letter.

By filing application form Does one have to state all travel information while was being in Canada?

You have to state each exit and entry to and from Canada, however, i believe that it does not count if it is NOT a full 24 hour day and you return on the same day as you left. C. What absences to declare

If you travel outside of Canada, yes.

From instruction guide:

List all trips you have taken outside your country of origin or of residence in the last ten years (or since your 18th birthday if this was less than ten years ago). Include all trips: tourism, business, training, etc.

Sure man, why not? Have you already applied for PR?

Konan1982, you are free to leave and re-enter Canada at any time as long as you have the legal means to re-enter Canada either a PR card, visa whatever as long as you know you will be allowed back into Canada, go ahead and travel.

Ok, then make sure you mention every travel, every trip outside Canada in your application.
I travelled a lot to the US, just keep track of the dates and you'll be fine.
