Hi all,

My PR application is still in progress (Biometrics are done, however I am yet to receive the P1 email). I got my BOWP approved yesterday on GC-Key. Can I travel outside Canada for a month long vacation? What documents would I need to return back? Anything else I should keep in mind? (I do have a visitor visa that's valid until 2030)

Thank you.

Yes you can travel with your BOWP copy which ul get through mail and TRV together But if you do get P1 while you are away, then you have to inform ircc to pause your application till you come back to reply for the P1. that said if your AOR is after November, according to the wait times right now u wont get P1 till March atleast.

Thank you so much for response. My AOR is September 4th which makes the situation confusing. I read somewhere that there have been instances wherein IRCC issues a COPR without sending portal emails (P1 and P2). In that case, I am worried if my TRV and BOWP become invalid while I am outside Canada. Any thoughts on this?

Also, as you mention about informing IRCC to pause the application, is that through a webform for just letting them know via the Portal 1 email?

I appreciate your help!

No they dont really send ecopr directly. Its not possible if you are under CEC. you can let them know by webform but i suggest you to do it through phone call.

Hey buddy, sorry to bother you but one last question - I am planning to travel in 20 days. What happens if I receive P1 before leaving? Can i delay responding until I am outside Canada and then mention my return date from outside. This way they would stop my P2 process. Thanks!

You could even respond the same thing while being inside Canada before you leave. As long as you give them your travel dates, they would put a hold on the application accordingly.
