HeGuys, I am in a big dilemma. Please help. I have to travel to India very urgently. That is on september 5 2012. My Temporary resident visa expired last year. But I have my PGWP valid till 2014. I have my USA Visa. So the question is can I travel from CANADA->USA->INDIA and INDIA->USA->CANADA. Ultimately Canada will be my destination country. Will I face any problems when I am coming back to canada on expired TRV..

Unfortunately no

Sir, Madam,

Thank you for contacting the Call Centre. I am pleased to provide you with the requested information:

Re-entry to Canada on Original Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)

Generally, a new single-entry Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or a multiple-entry TRV is necessary to re-enter Canada as a visitor, student or worker.

As an exception, you can ask to re-enter Canada on your original TRV, even if it is expired, if:

you will only visit the *U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon and you will return to Canada before the end of your authorized stay.

An officer will question you to make sure you meet all of the requirements before allowing you to re-enter Canada. If you visit any country other than those listed above, you will need a new TRV.

* The 50 states only, does not include visits to U.S. territories or cruises.

You can take all the require documents with you and apply in India. You should also obtain a current letter of employment from your employer. Without it, you will not be issued a TRV.

I agree with senoritabella , you can apply in India and if you have all supporting documents , consulate in india can issue you a trv within a week or so. One of my friends had same situation couple years back and he went back and applied in chandigarh and he got it in 3 days.

I agree with others you can apply for your visa in India.

Its funny when you apply from Canada it took me a month to get back my passport and its shorter when you apply in India.
