Travel History Place holder - ITA

Hi All,

I have a question about the passports that need to be uploaded in the document checklist. There is a place-holder for the valid passport that I see, so I will upload all pages which have a stamp and a visa page and not the blank pages.

But what about my expired passports because I have a lot of stamps and visas on them and I have mentioned in the form as a travel history. Where do I upload them? In the supporting documents section?

You just have to upload Valid passport copy with all relevant pages.

Thanks for the response. So you mean only the valid passport Bio information(like passport number DOB etc) but all the visa and stamp pages which includes even my old passports?

You just have to upload your current valid passport and all the visa and stamp pages in your current passport. Ignore the previous old passports. You don't need to upload those.

Hmmm, ok sure. But then how can they verify my travel history? Like for example I went to Budapest using my old passport and the stamp is on that. Also in the online application I have said I have been to Budapest in the last 10 years under travel history.

If I dont give any supporting info, how will CIC validate that I have been to Budapest?

Not an issue for you. They can verify it with the country directly if they want to.

I would advise you upload everything including old passport.

I don't have extensive travel history but I have 2passport and I plan on uploading the 2. Don't take chances.

Where are you planning to upload your old passports? In the Travel documents placeholder or under other supporting documents placeholder?

You absolutely don't need to upload your old passports. I have an extensive travel history in my previous two passports, and I only uploaded the current one. They never ask for a proof of travel history, so why worry about that. I am sure they have their ways of verifying it.
