hello guys. i don't know is this right topic for settlement issues but if anyone have expirience with this please help. my boyfriend applied/sent his application to alberta veg. for permanent resident on january 5 2012. and we ...well in april it's gonna be a year that we didn't see each other...and we really miss each other.he is in ontario and i'm in europe....and he's gonna applied for travel document.so on website just says it is several months..so is anyone applied for T.D.....or something....he plan to stay in germany for just 4-5 days....is someone got his travel doc. faster.

Your situation is not clear from what you have stated in the post.
Travel Document is a type of Canadian Visa issued for one entry only and is given to Canadian Permanent Residents who are outside Canada and do not have PR card to re-enter Canada.
Further, time needed for the issue of Travel Document vary from country to country. In some countries, it may be issued in few weeks and in some, it may take few months.

1. I will take a guess that he applied as a refugee and was accepted, so has sent his PR application to Vegreville for processing, right?
2. So he is not a Permanent Resident as yet, so he is not eligible for a Travel Document.
3. They are working on applications submitted in Sept.2011 and the processing time is about 19 months. So it will be a while before he is a PR.

Simple solution, if you are German by nationality than you have a visa free entry to Canada. Why don't you visit if whatever application(it's not clear what exactly he applied for) he applied for taking longer than anticipated.

Based on previous posts, the OP is currently in Germany but is not a German national and needs a visa to enter Canada.
