Hi,
I want to know how early should I apply for my Travel Document renewal? Is there any set rule?

Also, the one I have right now has 2-year validity. Will my renewed travel document have 2-year validity as well?

Note: I don't have my PR, it's still in process.
Thanks.

Second RTD has 5 years validity. You can renew before or after expired.

You can apply for new one when the current one has less than 12 months validity. Since you don’t have pr yet it will be 2 years again.

I see and do I need to go through the whole process of filing the application and having a guarantor and 2 refs?

I have a question, when I’m re applying for my travel document, do I need to send my old one mandatory? Or can I send a copy, I have a USA visa on it and I’m scare to loose it or not getting back

it is mandatory to send your old RTD back if it is still valid and not passed the expiry date. when you send your full application for a new RTD along with the old non-expired RTD, send a letter requesting that they send you the old RTD back as you have valid visas in it and they will send it back to you.
It is common practice, I did that and they sent it back to me and it is detailed in the application form ADULT TRAVEL DOCUMENT APPLICATION- INSTRUCTION PART J / PPTC190 Page 4.
If you're still worried I would also scan the RTD and visa for your records just in case.

Hello everyone I have a question, After getting the or are they going to give us back our passports? Is anybody who has experience this already? Did they bring it back the passport or we still need to apply for our travel documents? Thank you in advance

as a protected person in canada if you want to travel you have to apply for a refugee travel document and travel only using the travel document.
after you get your PR you can request to have your national country passport returned by IRCC, but it is not guaranteed they will send it to you and using your national country's passport (for travel, to renew it etc) can put your status in Canada at risk and the govt can claim reavailment/cessation and attempt to revoke your protected person status.

Are you sure that I can apply for new one if the old one has 10 month validity? Do you have any official source please?

Thanks
