Hello All,

What would be the options for people who are on TRV in Canada and there stay is going to expire in next 30 days.

Will CIC give an automatic extension to the people who are already in Canada and cant travel due to flight banned or they have to apply for an extension .

Many Thanks

No - they should apply to extend their status to keep themselves in Canada legally.

What about travel Authorization?

Sorry - I don't understand the question. Is this for someone who is already in Canada? If so, then travel authorization doesn't need to be extended.

Can they not travel and stopover in another country and connect their flight to India?

From CTV news (I believe home means Canada)

Additionally, if travellers departing from those two countries take an indirect route home, they’ll be required to show a negative PCR test at their last point of departure. Once they arrive in Canada, they’ll follow the standard protocols, unless exempt, including taking another test and booking a stay at a designated government hotel while they await their result.

I am not sure how they can get the test done at a stop over location...

They essentially have to stay in their transit location until they have a new PCR test. That will be a huge deterrent.

EDit: Just saw that people would also have to respect the quarantine rules of the transit country which could involve a quarantine or not being able to enter like the UK.

No to travel from india..any Authorization expires on May 22..

They won't be able to travel on that visa unless they are willing and able to stop in their transit country and apply for another PCR test and follow any covid rules in that country.

Unfortunately you'll need to get a new authorization since the ban will be in place until the end of May.
