I have a question about the translations for the documents to upload post ITA for the PR with Express Entry process.
My wife, who is currently in Canada, but originally from Iran, recently requested and received the police certificates from Iran. She also got translations from a translation service in her home country, but I'm not sure those would be valid and if instead we should have them translated by a certified translator in Canada.
The reason is because on the CIC website mentions to use a certified translator from Canada for the police certificates:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=039&top=4
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/glossary.asp#certified_translator
Certified translator
A member in good standing of a provincial or territorial organization of translators and interpreters in Canada.
Does anyone know or have direct experience on the validity of using translations from outside Canada or whether we should have those done via a certified translator from http://www.cttic.org/chercher.asp
Thanks in advance,
Al
