  • Curious about what companies did you use for the translation in Canada?
  • Does translation have to be necessarily ATIO certified?
  • What your final submission document consisted of?

I received 2 translations, 1 from Docbase and the other one from Taontario.ca, and both of them doesn't seem to be super legit to me for IRCC purposes.

    Docbase consisted of:
  • Certification of translation (plus notarized 1st page)
  • Actual Translation
  • B/W copy of the document that I sent them with the stamp "Certified"

Don't see Docbase being certified anywhere.

    Taonario translation:
  • Affidavit (not notarized)
  • Actual Translation
  • And b/w copy of the document that I sent them without any stamps

Should I just go ahead and make a 3d translation but ATIO certified? And what do you submit at the very end?

ATIO is an association of translator from Ontario. Why would the Federal Government ask you to use the translators of only one province specifically?? The only requirement from IRCC is to use a canadian certified translator.

I don't know Taonario but I've used Docsbase translations in the past and they match perfectly IRCC requirements in my opinion:

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with:
  • the English or French translation; and
  • an affidavit from the person who completed the translations; and
  • a certified photocopy of the original document

Sorry, I did not mean just ATIO, any organization that is certified (you can look them up here http://www.cttic.org/member.asp)

I just cannot seem to find Docbase and my translator on any database. Basically, how do I trust them? They put this round seal "Certified" but it means nothing. I can draw it myself :D

If only 1 person who used Docbase can confirm they received PR, I won't be stressing anymore :D

Also, this page states the translation should be from the certified translator: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/about.html

I understand, personally I´m not interested in vouching for any translation agency. Hope you find yourself a good certified translator, good luck!
