The cic translation requirements are as follows:

If it is not in English or French, you must send it with:

the English or French translation and
an affidavit from the person who completed the translation and
a certified photocopy of the original document

certified photocopy:

A photocopy of an original document. It must be readable and certified as a true copy of the original by an authorized person. The person compares the documents and marks on the photocopy:

their name and signature
their position or title
the name of the original document
the date they certified the document
the phrase “I certify that this is a true copy of the original document.”

According to their requirements, it needs a certified true copy of original documents.

My question is: is it necessary to follow the cic requirements to get a certified true copy which is a kind of wired.

Always follow what they say if you don't want problems.

What's weird about it? Follow the guidelines and ensure that you submit the certified true copy as well as the original.

These rules were developed in the days of the paper-based application and have not (yet) changed since the implementation of EE and online applications. So , I agree it's weird for an online application, but until the rules change, you have to follow them.

Thank you all for quick replies. I just found another paragraph from CIC which is a sort of duplicate requirements under translation of document section:

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with a copy of the original document as well as a version translated by a certified translator.

Which one should we follow?

Thank you again in advance

Sorry, I didn`t have that kind of documents, so you would have to ask some other member with that experience.

What I am doing is this;

1)Originals (anything other than English or French)
2)Its Translations from a sworn/certified translator( which is accredited by the notary)
3)Certified photocopies (notary)

I think these cover all the requirements...

As far as I know, and as far as my checklist suggests, notarised stuff is always acceptable...

I am doing this for my divorce certificate, my PCC report and pretty much everything...so I can say all the important documents... because theres no other option mentioned for the documents that are other than English or French... if anyone has any other idea please suggest...

Hi Experts,

I have a doubt . I did submit my eAPR recently. There are a couple of documents : Marriage certificate & my Child's birth certificate; these are in dual language. i.e Local indian language + English.

Since the document has both languages; i did not translate these 2 docs in English. I only uplaoded the original documents in eAPR.

Is it ok ? OR will this be rejected as the document is not in English-only ?
