TRANSLATION OF BIRTH CERTIFICATES---> Notarized or Certified or BOTH

Hi guys,

It's me again. So as you guys no I had to retake my english test and yes I passed (CELPIP:5H,5H,5L,5L). Now I am in the process of gathering documents. My birth certificates need to be translated, but I am not sure if they need to be certified or notarized as well. Any input is appreciated.

Again, thank you guys for the help and I hope my papers go through this time around.

translation must be done be a recognized body.
that's it
notary, or association of translotors of any province,

So that means certified translation is enough? Do you have any good translator companies you can recommend? Maybe companies which doesn't charge an arm and a leg? lol

You need to submit translation done by recognized translator AND certified (notarized) copy of the original document.

I just translate my document. no need to notarized the copy.
also, i have never seen anyone gets rejected because of document translation.

How would you get the original notarized if the notary here in Canada likely won't understand the language?

It might be not a reason for rejection, but this is what they are asking for:

Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

the English or French translation;
and an affidavit from the person who completed the translation;
and a certified copy of the original document.

It's up to you. i read the same instructions that you read and I decided to just translated my document.

Hi all.

I am applying for the pr in the next weeks.
I do not understand this thing of the certified copy of the documents: I mean I am sending birth,marriage and police certificates as received by the officers in my country, so are "originals", they could do copies by themselves!

Moreover, are the certified copies linked someway to the translation? In other terms can I have the official translation done in my counrty and the certified copy in Canada?
