Do we need to translate every page of a bank statement? Our statement is pretty huge, since we didn't use a credit card before, so it has basically a long list of everything we paid for.

It seems pretty silly to pay hundreds of dollar to translated a document that is mostly composed of numbers...

Which program are you applying for and from which country? Chances are you would no need to translate lots of pages of documents.
Try contacting these guys in Toronto: http://www.docsbase.ca/ there are many discussions on forum and they seem to be the cheapest ones

you have to provide only balance statement
your transactions are private and should not be shown

But CIC is specifically asking for the last 4 months transaction details right ?? They have mentioned that they need last 6 months avg balance for each account.. So should'nt we provide the transaction details ?

I beg to disagree. For "Proof of Funds" you are right, but there may be other reasons why you should provide a detailed bank statement. For say, you are a freelancer with no pay stubs. In order to prove you actually received money from the companies you have reference letters from, you have got to provide payment details. How do I know? That is how my application was deemed incomplete and returned to me in FSW 2014.

Many people have shared the page where it is mentioned to submit the bank statement for the last 4 months.. Also in the checklist that they have provided it is mentioned that they need the average balance for the last 6 months...Below is the extract from the website..
"
The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include applicant’s name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the account numbers, dates of when each account was opened and the current balance of each account as well as the average balance in the past six months.
