Impossible to say without knowing what passport you hold, your status in Canada and your status (if any) in the US.

I hold an Indian Passpor, have never applied for US Visa and have recently recieved Canadian PR

You need a visa to transit through the US. I would avoid traveling through the US if at all possible.

Not only that, even if you do arrange transit Visa, expect to spend 1-2 hours going through Detroit immigration.
