Transit visa for USA

If my flight has a stop at Newyork do i need transit visa...Please reply guys it is very imp to me as flights rates are increasing way too fast.

For transit visa how many days it might take..

You'll have to fill a transit visa online and book of an interview. Once approved in the interview, they will take you passport and return it in 3 to 7 days. Source: Personal experience with the US embassy.

Your welcome. But beware as it's not easy to obtain it. I would go with zhsyedabbas advice and aviod US as a transit port.

What are your departure and destination cities?

Well you can go with that option if you'd like. But you'll have to act fast as you'll need an interview booked, and this is a peak time for US visas in general.

the cheapest I found is 88K... jet airways via United Kingdom.

Its in US dollars. When u convert, its approx 88K... You should keep looking everyday. There was someone on this forum who suggested that you look for tickets between 11 pm and 5 am. Thats the time you will get cheap tickets and also always look for tickets for weekdays. Weekends are more expensive.
