My wife and I will be making a trip to Canada and the United States in December. She is Chinese, I am Canadian. We will be taking our Honey moon in New York City, and then Visiting Family in Calgary before returning to Shanghai. We have all the necessary visiting visa for both countries ( single entry- Canada, Multi entry- USA). We are looking to book our flight now, and it seems to be loads cheaper to use Air Canada and go through Vancouver, rather then direct from Shanghai to New York. My question is, if we book PVG- NWR, and it transits through YVR, would we be required to clear immigration, which would give her a stamp in her passport, use her single entry and we would not be allowed to land again in Calgary (as she then would not have the proper visa), to actually see friends and family..... We would be in vancouver only on a three hour layover.
Thanks
