Hi guys,

So recently I was issued a tranit By-Law violation ticket in Calgary for not being able to produce a valid fare on the train (I forgot my transit pass, I was running late.)

The fine is $250 and was issued by a Peace Officer.

I was wondering if that will go on a government record at all in Canada even after I've paid for it ???
Will it affect my permanent residency application ? I've already got an e-APR submitted.

Someone told me that it might appear on the CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) and JEIN (Justice Enterprise Information Network) when they do my background check.

I"m just very worried that the ticket/fine will make me inadmissible for my PR application.

It's not a criminal charge, but if you want to feel free to add it to your LOE.

that is not the crime. you do not need to worry about. I have my friends who got parking and over speeding tickets and they all the got PR.

Thanks I just wanna make sure that it's on it any database that the government has.

If anyone else wants to chime in, feel free

Oh they will KNOW! But they won't care!!! :P

Everyone gets parking tickets and speeding fines... They aren't a crime, the purpose of the fine is to EDUCATE you so that you won't do it again.

But it's not a speeding or parking ticket. It's a bylaw ticket for forgetting my train pass. And it happened in Canada (YYC)

And where is the crime in forgetting a train pass? The fine is just so that you won't do it again... Relax... But if you really want to explain yourself write a paragraph about it in your LoE.

hopefully CIC doesn't see it.

I got two tickets of without ticket traveling with a difference of 15 days. Now it will be on my records?

Just want to ask an update about your case? Did it affect your application? Because I was just ticketed today same as yours and I am bit worried right now

I lost my ttc fare evasion ticket neither went to court to pay . Is it a minor offence ?does it show in police clearance records .
