There's been a bit of wondering why some files get transferred from Buffalo and some don't, one of the variables that often pops up is the PA is in Canada during processing. I wanted to get an idea of how often it happens and if there is a definite in/out of Canada connection... this isn't a scientific survey, and I know to get a true idea of a link I would need to include non-transferred applications, but I'm keeping it simple for now... maybe later!

Here's the spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqWjgVnQfJ9adFkxWHNTbm5qeHBBTEtYc2JfemJ1cWc&hl=en_US#gid=0

If you would (please!) PM me or post here so I can add you to the sheet?
I just need the (1)date the sponsor was approved or transferred to Buffalo, (2)the date it was transferred to the satellite office, and (3)if you are in canada on a visitors permit or outside Canada.

If you got PPR or your COPR already, please post that date as well, otherwise, please let me know when you do get it!

Just a bump!

So far I've only found one applicant inside Canada who did *not* get transferred, but I haven't paid a lot of attention... are there more of you out there, should I create a second sheet for you guys?

Wouldn't it make more sense to transfer the apps of applicants who aren't living in Canada in order to expedite the process for them since they are living apart from their spouses? Seems more logical to me than to expedite those apps for people who are already living in Canada..

I have a non-forum friend who applied in June or July 2010 is living in Canada and her file has not been transferred.

Is it the same friend who was having problems with x-rays?

Yes, it does make more sense to expedite those waiting to see their spouses doesn't it? I don't know why it happens, but it seems to be fairly common.

yeah, but i guess there must be a reason for everything! The fact that cantor, and some others are outside and still got transfered gives me hope! It seems like it does make things go a little faster if transfered so I've got my fingers crossed!

Yep, the very same. She re-did her medical in December 2011 and got a letter last week dated mid-Jan 2012 asking her to re-do her medical!

I haven't been transferred yet. Really hope this whole process gets over quickly.

My file got transferred to Seattle today. Does this mean that I'll need to go to Seattle for an interview, if one is required? It's the farthest visa office for me.

The email also says I can't use e-cas for a change of address, and that I shouldn't request any information for the next 90 days, and that Buffalo will not respond to any communication from me. That's making me worried because "Hey don't talk to us for 3 months" seems like a long time... but I tend to over-worry anyway.
E-cas still says "application received", and I am applying outland.

Email them directly for a change of address. Don't fret about the 90 day thing, if you look at the spreadsheet, almost everyone got approved well before 90 days (you can definitely update your address and other information before 90 days). And if the PA is a US citizen, it's almost a guarantee there won't be an interview, but from what I understand, yes, it would be the one you'd have to go to.

Mine has been in LA for 3 weeks now and my ecas says nothing except "your application was received on Aug 26" ...it'll happen eventually!

Oh, are you/the PA inside or outside Canada during the process?

PA is principle applicant? I'm outside of Canada, and I'm a US citizen. Thanks for pointing out the spreadsheet!

Mine got transfered to Seattle as well a few weeks back. And Isometry is scares me to death too that I might have to go for an interview..... since it is so far away how in the world will I ever drive that far lol.Oh well I have to quit worrying about it and deal with how to get there if it comes to that. ....sigh
I am US filing outland but herein Canada with my hubby.Good luck everyone!
Thanks awor for the spreed sheet.

My husband's file was transferred to Seattle on March 1!! So ecstatic! He had checked off LA as the preferred interview location, but i'll take any transfer they'll give us! File was transferred to buffalo on Feb 3, and he is currently OUTSIDE Canada. Thanks!
