Hello,

I have completed my Bsc from Mumbai university.
Now here First year i was in a different college ABC College and the last 2 years i was in some different college e.g. XYZ college.
After that i completed my Masters from London. MSc

Now how to proceed further in getting transcripts. I am in Mumbai now.

1. What all documents i need to get attested from Mumbai University ?

2. Now since 1st year i was in ABC College and last 2 years i was in XYZ college i am confused now as in i have the transcripts of all the years from my College "but not from Mumbai University" in sealed envelopes ? So in this case you require transcripts from Mumbai University or College ?

3. I have done my MSc from University of London. So how to arrange the transcripts from there since i am in Mumbai? The University has given the Result sheet to me and also awarded the degree to me. Is that marksheet which has a seal of the University, a hologram act as a transcript ? but how can i attest them ? i have 3 originals of it. so i can send that as well for ECA Evaluation i can take that risk to send a original.

4. I am also confused as in who will post this envelope me or Mumbai University ? lot of people are saying Mumbai University will post it? Please help me

Dear all,

I went to Mumbai Uiversity, Student Welfare Section, Near Sydenham college, near Churchgate station to apply for my Transcripts.
I followed the procedure stated in the below link


Thanks to the person who had posted it. But, to my surprise I did not have to go though all the ellaborate procedure.

I have followed the below mentioned steps for application of transcripts (sealed and stamped) from Mumbai University for the purpose of ECA/ WES credential evaluation for immigartion purpose.

You will be provided with an application form at the Students welfare department, near Sydenham college. Fill up the form and provide the below documents to the university for application of transcripts. The timings are from 11 am to 1 PM. 1.00 to 1.30 is their lunch time. 1.30 to 2.00 Pm they will again collect applications and issue transcripts. No forms will be issued during the last1/2 hour.

1) 2 sets of colour photo copy of final year marsksheet, degree certificate, convocation degree/ certificate. The colour copies need to have the stamp saying it is colour photocopy.
2) 2 copies of latest college bonafide certificate. This is absolutely required if you have graduated before 10 years. You have to visit your college from where you passed the 3/ 4 years and get a bonafide certificate. Basically it is similar to college leaving certificate stating how many years you have studied in the collage, which stream, and signature by prinicpal. This has to be latest.
If the above is not there and you are required to submit college transcripts also, then please visit your college and get the transcripts for each year of study in the college. The college will issue you 1 consolidated transcripts in sealed envelop (usually 5 copies) for Rs. 1000. I have just taken this for precaution, but this is not at all required for transcripts to be issued by Mumbai University. They will issue transcripts without college transcripts also. . University will only issue transcript for the final year in any stream. They will NOT stamp or need documents of any other years of education
3) 1 copy of the above documents are retained by the university. Carry your originals as well. This will be verified when you submit you application.
4) I also gave a printed letter to them requesting for issue of transcripts along with WES address, my address and contact number on it.
5) All this documents are stapled togather are put in a large envelop.....to be carried by us only.
6) Carry 3/4 smaller envelops where they will ask you to write the WES address on top. These are also put into the bigger envelop.

So, in a nutshell
1) 2 copies of marskeets, degree certificate, convocation certificate, latest bonafied certificate from college
2) 1 large envelop
3) 3/4 smaller enveloped- 1 with WES address on top of it, which will contain the transcript in sealed and stamped form.

The fees are not more than Rs. 20, but I was expecting Rs.500 as stated in the previous blog. They provide the receipt and ask you to come after 25 days.

Apart from Mumbai University, if you have attended Mumbai Board, please dont foget to collect your 10th and 12th transcripts from the board in Vashi.
They are very prompt and will issue the same in 15 days.
All you need to do is, fill in the request form, submit 2 colur copies of marksheet and certificates and pay the fees of 400 per transcript. They will give receipt and you have to provide same at the window and collect the sealed/ verified documents.

You will need to submit the copies for marksheets, certificate, convocation, college bonafide certificate. Get bonafide from both the colleges. Minimal charges for the same is taken by college

Mumbai university will only issue transcripts for final year. they dont even check for other years/ endorse for other years. So you only need a bonafide from your colleges for the years spent there. Go to college and get bonafide as it is much easier. Else they will send you to Kalina campus, which is a mess. If you have been told by WES/ otherwise to get transcripts from college as well, please do the same. Else it is not required. Degree transcript is enough.

You will need a transcript from this Univ also. Probably you can call and check with them the procedure. Maybe they have an online option. Transcripts are sealed envelopes addressed to WES, and should not be opened by you.

I think it is very clear that we have to collate all documents/ transcripts from all the institutes from where we have done our graduation/ masters/ mba, etc. though Mumbai university takes an envelop with WES address written on it, from us, they will not send the document to WES. They only charged me Rs. 20 for this whole process, and I am sure international courier charges would be much more than this. Hence they wont send to WES. They will hand deliver to us, and we would have to collate all the sealed envelopes, along with copies of all our educational documents, get it notarised, and make a packet of same and send to WES.

Hi Saumit, I can give u an easy way out as I got my Attestation done in 3 hrs.
Just take 2 sets of copies of all your semesters and your Final Degree certificate. No need for Transcripts
Go to the Mumbai university main gate which is bank opposite HDFC bank in Fort.
Once you do there a Security guard will ask you whats ur reason to visit der. Just tell him, that u have been called by Dsouza madam as u have lost ur Marksheets and u want new one's.
Mrs. Dsouza is the scretary of Mr.A.A.Khan who is the one that issues attestation ,I guess he is the chancellor or something.
If m not mistaken the room no. of Mrs. Dsouza's desk is 109. Go there and request her for attestation. She comes usually around 10.30 .So u will have to wait a couple of hours but Khan's signtaure is more than enuf for the ECA's

Can anyone tell me if you have graduated before 10 years, will the University of Mumbai welfare division provide attested copies for BE (1st and 4th year) or do you have to go Kalina campus ? This is for Canada immigration - Educational Credential Assessment - to be sent WES.
If you have to go to Kalina campus, which department and whom to meet? Details would be appreciated.

No need for a colored copy. A B/w copy will do as well. I had submitted colored but then asked the lady there and she said not required.

I just submitted my form today, just to update the documents mentioned in the earlier post are the same. I had to follow the below process

1. Get the documents as mentioned above
2. Take 2 A3 Envelopes, On one and only one, you put the Address (its written on the table on the left when you go inside). the other one need not have the address.
3. Take the application form. It has your number you have to submit you documents as per that number.
4. As you number comes go inside and get your documents verified. Please take originals (mentioned in the earlier post). the people will verify the copies you are submitting.
5. Once verified she will put the amount you need to enter i suppose 5 per page + some charges. I paid Rs 77 I had about 9 documents
6. Pay and take the receipt.

I was told 8 days but I saw on the board, even submissions of 30/03 were ready so they are becoming very fast but keep 21 days buffer any way.

I have recently applied for the express entry program through a consultancy and currently at the ECA stage. Reading all the comments above in the discussion I am very confused with what my consultancy has asked me to do.
I have completed my BSc and MHRDM (part time), both affiliated to Mumbai university. Now, when I shared all my marksheets to the consultancy they verified and asked me to get two sets of attestation to be completed - one for the years my college has conducted the exam and one for the Mumbai university (like most of the time the final year exams are board exams) So for Ex my bachelor's degree.. It has 2 yrs marksheets imprinted college's name and the final year imprinted Mumbai university and they are asking me to get two sets of envelopes from respective college and university then conceal both sets in one envelope and send it to wes. Likewise for MHRDM marksheets and I have been told that if I don't get in the format they have said wes will not accept it.
It is really confusing as the college has told me they give in a standard format and that too for all the years, they would not entertain giving separate for few marksheets.
Please advise.

Did you take just the final year marksheet or all the years?
