Transcripts Manadatory?

1)
I just wanted to confirm if it is really manadatory to obtain the official transcripts. Based on my reading it does not seem manadatory. Here is what the IMM5612 checklist says (refer section 13):

"Transcripts: transcripts for all successfully completed studies (diploma, certificates, degrees), if available."

2)
IMM5612 checklist (refer section 13) requires following:
"You much include evidence of both the total number of years of education along with evidence that the programs(s) were completed."

What is that they are expecting me to send here? All my marksheet since beginning? Please clarify.

Transcripts are not mandatory. I had submitted marksheets & degree certificates (attested).

It's not mandatory to submit transcripts, Mark-sheets are required from the beginning.

I sent mark sheets copy for me and my wife. As per CAIPS note they accepted my mark sheets but not for wife- did not include her points in total. So I sent again original transcripts for university certificates issued by the university duly sealed.
Recommended to send original transcripts which they return with passports later.
