I got CIC's feedback today. My application for permanent residence will not be approved before August...

My application was filed March, 30, 2012

Did they reply to any inquiry of yours with this info or cic initiated the message? 'cause previously I asked for an update and their answer was to expect the next communication by August 31st. Was it the same case with you?

Is it a template or they actually say it won't be approved until August? Can you please paste the email?

Thanks

Got my Passport request last Friday! Woohooo.. They received my application for the Federal part on Feb 16, 2012. Does anyone know how long it takes to get passport back from NY consulate?

Congratulations! So good to see we are still getting PPR!

I submitted my initial app to NS (Feb 2012), then it got routed to CPP-Ottawa for Meds (Apr 2012), then it got routed to NY consulate in NY to actually process my file (Apr 2013). My FBI background check had expired so had to wait an additional 6 weeks to receive the new ones. Then about 2 weeks after they received my updated FBI, I received the PPR. I currently live in the US. Hope this timeline inspires others who are still waiting. There is still hope! BTW, how do I attach my stats to my profile name?

Does anyone have any news regarding how the strike action develops? Any hope they could go back to normal work soon?

Hello locashelly, You about to cross the border line, it will take 2- weeks to receive your passport back with magical stamp. Good luck and God bless.

Congratulations for your PPR! Interesting to see that they are sending apps in NY for those who live in the US. Can you tell me, did you find out your file was in NY consulate through e-mail from CIC, or through eCas? And if they required to resend new FBI bacKground check, how long is fbi valid for. I might actually go ahead and order a new fbi certificate just in case while my application in pending. It might save me some time.

I received an email directly from NY consulate telling me my file had been transferred for processing and they were asking for an update on personal history and to pay RPRF. FBI are only valid for a year so if it's been over a year then I would order new ones to save some time. I asked them to extend my medicals and they did for one year. I assume if you are in the US they are forwarding to NY consulate. I live in Texas. ECAS updated to in process after I received the email from them but didn't show any details. It still shows as in process even though they asked me to submit passports.
