Wow..this new option sounds real good as you don't have to leave Canada and then re-enter.

This must be new as a friend of mine got his PR in October and still had to go to US and come back.

Hope they improve other processes as well.

I am under BC PNP. My Visa office is CPP Ottawa. I sent them a message yesterday asking about my status they sent me the same message they sent to everyone.

They Replied at 8:30 pm Ottawa time. Looks like they are working hard :D I hope they are lol

Hi Coder,

You applied under which category, and what is you visa office please.

Hey Coder ,

what exactly did they say?
did they also told u that it gonna take 16 months now ?

Today, we crossed the Peace Arch Border Crossing and went back to process our immigrant visa. The officer asked few questions and then gave us his congatulations for becoming a Permanent Resident in Canada. It probably took us 15 minutes to process our permanent residency. God bless to everyone with their application. I hope everyone will get their residency soon :)

under which Province you applied?

Hello everyone,

My timeline is kinda similar to u guys....

Hi Sohail,

I don't think we need to inform CIC for traveling abroad for few weeks as it is not a change of status like marriage, unemployed, etc.

So, take it easy and have a super trip back home. :)

Hi Sonic,

Many congrats for getting final PR. Just one question, why did you choose to cross the border when you could go to the nearest CIC/CIO office for the same? Just curious. :)

@Gary: thats what i thought. any updates from your side?

No updates. I don't even track it now as it will take a while.

Local offices require appointments which may be a couple months later whereas you can finalize your PR status almost instantly at Port of Entry.

Hi Folks,

We close another month today. Any updates? Any mails from CIC/CPP?
