Hi guys,
I am new in this forum. I was following this thread for a long time. Today I decided to join the conversation.

I am also a May 2012 applicant from BC, still waiting to get my PR.
My timeline:
Application filed(received in Sydney): May 28, 2012
AOR received: July 12, 2012
Med done: Within 2 months
File status: In process since May 3, 2013
Fingerprint & Police clearance request: May 4, 2013, Sent by June 15, 2013

After that, no news.
I contacted local MP office and they said CIC is doing background/security check!

I don't know why it's taking so much time for them to do a simple security check given that I'm living here for 5 years.

I m facing the same problem too... My file went in-process on 2 July 2013, and since thn i never heard anything frm CIC... i sent them couple of email and every time they respond it back with the same answer which is "It's in process and be patient and keep the correspondence to minimum". I contacted my local MP and they said the same thing tat CIC is doing background/security check, and they said for background check, CIC hav to contact the authorities in ur home country, to do background check on u, and its the authorities in ur home country who are taking longer time to complete background check on you not CIC itself, and tat the only thing which is holding ur file for PPR

Let C.... when authorities n my home country ... will complete background check on me...

I know one of my friend who is waiting for last 3 years...his security started almost 1 year ago...he is from islamabaad....
