I disagree on this. they do process files differently based on inside and outside. here is a part of email that i received with my AOR recently.adnanraheed said:I believe, it doesn't matter whether the applicant is inside or outside Canada; all applications are processed in accordance with the date they are received at CIO.
I'm Alberta's Nominee under family stream, I've never been in Canada and sent my application to CIO, NS from Pakistan.
As Lucas 52 said, he is in Canada and Sarayu is in USA but we all are sailing in the same boat. Hopefully good news is on the way!
stone8198 said:Mine was on 3rd July. I disagree to it, it totally depends on what your application is all about. I have seen in the forums and my colleagues application. It depends on your file makeup. There is a reason they initiated one more step in this i.e. NS so they can filter applications.

Stone8198, I knew, you got AOR and MR and your application was received at CIO on July 03 that is why I asked about the applications received after July 03. Those who have not applied under PNP, their time line may be different, I think in this topic all the applicants are provincial nominees under different streams. Of course, if the file is incomplete, no AOR is sent.
To my understanding, the creation of CIO at NS is to ensure that all applications are complete before they are forwarded to visa office.
I appreciate everybody who is sharing their experience and time line, it is good to have an idea on how much time is being taken to reach different milestones during application processing.
Thanks
Adnan
Thanks Sohail for sharing your thoughts.sohail.ali said:I disagree on this. they do process files differently based on inside and outside. here is a part of email that i received with my AOR recently.
Processing time
Applications for permanent residence in Canada in the category that you have applied have a processing standard of 10 months. If you have not received any instructions from this office by 120 days from the date of this letter, you are requested to contact this office directly.
Non-resident applications
You should be aware that there may be additional delays in the processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada, if you or any of your accompanying family members are not normally resident in the area of responsibility of the office responsible for your application. This delay may result from the need to refer your case to the Canadian Immigration office which is responsible for the country in which you or your family members normally reside. This referral is necessary to verify any information that you have provided with your application, or for advice concerning qualifications or other matters of a local concern that should be taken into account when assessing your application.
Did you email or call them?lucas52 said:Anyway, it's truly weird that nobody got any thing after July 3. Do we have to believe it for summer vacation?
I emailed and got answered that my case is awaiting initial processingronaldoyaronaldo said:Did you email or call them?
So do you know if your package is complete yet?lucas52 said:I emailed and got answered that my case is awaiting initial processing
If my package was complete, they answered like that, but even never start to process my case, i dont think they know my package is complete or notronaldoyaronaldo said:So do you know if your package is complete yet?
That would help a lot if they can tell you, then you don't have to worry much
I am also exactly in the same situation guys. More over, my AINP nomination is getting expired today...lucas52 said:If my package was complete, they answered like that, but even never start to process my case, i dont think they know my package is complete or not
Hello guys, there is a little movement. Today I checked my credit card account online, processing fee ($550) has been taken by CIC on Aug 27.sarayu said:Guys, here is the time lines of few people who sent their applications to CIO in July/Aug.
Stone8198's application was received at CIO on July 03, 2012 and got AOR on Aug 16, 2012 which is 45 calendar days. I haven't seen anyone getting AOR after that.
If "adnanraheed" gets AOR, then we can expect our's one by one hopefully (if they are working on first come first serve basis).
Please share your thoughts.
